Maickel comenzó a estudiar
no intentarlo.
Sin perdón no hay vida, mis
padres perdonaron para poder seguir.
Amaras realmente a tus
dónde voy a llegar.
No existe peor miedo,
construyendo. Venezuela siempre es un fenómeno de posibilidades.

The great challenges have
been part of Maickel Melamed since before he was born. On April 27, 1975,
Maritza Trujillo had a complicated delivery. The umbilical cord was wrapped
around the neck of her son, who was diagnosed with "hypotonia" -which
consists of motor retardation of the body and loss of muscle mass- and a
prognosis of a few days to live.
Against all odds and to the
surprise of many, Maickel survived. Maritza Trujillo and Alberto Melamed, his
parents, decided that their son would have a life just like the rest of the
children and instilled in him the values of love, perseverance, mental
strength and an insatiable desire to excel. The words "I can't" would
be forbidden in his life.
Maickel began studying at
his brothers' school. In equal conditions and treatment, his colleagues were
very supportive in his training. Later, Melamed obtained a Bachelor's degree in
Economics from the Andrés Bello Catholic University, Caracas. There he stood
out not only as a student but as a student leader.
Maickel is passionate about
life and a constant fighter to show himself that limits do not exist and that
goals can be achieved with a lot of work and effort.
One of his greatest
challenges has been to undertake in the world of marathons. In 2011, Maickel
made this dream come true and ran the New York City Marathon in 15 hours and 22
minutes.
But a single race was not
enough. Maickel set out to run the 5 most important marathons in the world, so
a year later we saw him at the Berlin Marathon (2012), the Chicago Marathon
(2013), the Tokyo Marathon (2014) and the Boston Marathon. (2015).
Another of his achievements
in the sports world has been the summit of Pico Bolívar, the highest in
Venezuela, with an altitude of 4,978 meters above sea level.
His life purpose is to help
others to be better, through the discovery of their true potential to put it
into practice.
Maickel Melamed, a
motivational coach best known as a Venezuelan athlete, has written three books
so far: 'If you dream it, make it happen', 'Route for a dream' and 'The dream
and the flight'.
We share some of his
thoughts, expressed throughout his professional and sports career:
Every idea is a dream is
construction.
Talent, passion and
perseverance is the magic of being human.
To live is to get the fruit
of each moment.
After you define your paths,
adversities come, that's for sure.
Every second counts, every
obstacle overcome is a triumph.
Being aware of our
limitations is overcoming them.
Surviving is learning to
bond with the other.
Nothing is so great as not
to try.
Without forgiveness there is
no life, my parents forgave in order to continue.
You will really love your
parents, when you find yourself in them.
I learned to see death as a
companion, who teaches you to live daily.
The worst mistake of the
human being is the comparison, we are unique beings with different paths.
The path is made by walking,
but how difficult it is to walk on a path full of uncertainty and without
knowing where I am going to arrive. At this level, only self-esteem and
self-confidence are handled.
You don't have to wait for
the last day of your life to learn gratitude.
There are always ways to
make up for what you lack.
Once you love, you don't
stop loving.
From pain, miracles are
born, we grow from love.
In any terribly difficult
situation, the most important thing after acceptance is what YOU are going to
add to it or your response.
After planning a lot, we can
still find complex or difficult events, consider at least five scenarios.
When someone talks to me
about fear, I ask if it is greater than the fear of NOT DOING ANYTHING. There
is no worse fear, that one does not allow you to choose.
There is nothing worse than
someone who never takes responsibility.
If something doesn't work,
you can choose again.
If I have the power to admit
that I am wrong, I also have the power to correct.
Knowledge is required to
decide assertively.
Authenticity is the greatest
source of connection there is. Learning to be YOU is finding your own power and
building your reputation.
The currency of the future
is reputation, you can have it all, but with a reputation crisis, you may lose
everything.
Letting something die is
giving the possibility for something better to be born.
You are what you leave in
other people.
There is nothing more
important than managing time well.
Addiction to adrenaline is
what complicates us, addiction to status, acceptance, recognition, substances.
Love is more like peace than
euphoria.
Giving you time is giving you love.
Venezuela in a word is a
love, it is my peace, I love Venezuelans and I love above all what we are
building. Venezuela is always a phenomenon of possibilities.
